About Us

Who Are We?  The Deeply Rooted Counseling Ministry at Ash Grove First Baptist Church (DRCM) exists to serve the Ash Grove and surrounding communities with the love and wisdom God has for His children through the ministering of His Word. Our name is derived from Psalms 1. This passage paints for us a picture of the benefits of Godly counsel. Our Biblical counselors seek to provide the practical wisdom and instruction of Scripture in order to help the counselee face life's pressures in a manner pleasing to the Lord. The goal of Biblical counseling is to restore the joy of salvation and glorify God.

Who is it for?  The DRCM seeks to minister to the members of our church body. We also welcome all individuals, couples, or families outside of the church from Ash Grove, Mo., and surrounding communities. There is not a problem too big or too small to receive counseling from one of the Biblical Counselors at AGFBC. Our Biblical counselors are equipped to help those suffering from a number of life's issues, including but not limited to: conflict, anger, depression, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, among others.

Credentials  The DRCM counselors are certified through the Institute for Biblical Counseling & Discipleship (IBCD) or hold a degree in Biblical Counseling. In addition, each Biblical counselor is pursuing or has completed certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) Make an appointment if you are interested in receiving Biblical Counseling from AGFBC's DRCM, you can make an appointment via email or by phone.

What is our Foundation?

Our foundation, the Bible is God's divinely inspired Word, profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). It is through Scripture that we can find everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Not only has God provided His Word for the problems we face, but He has provided a people as well. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), to encourage (1 Thessalonians 5:11), bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2), and stir up love and good works in the lives of one another (Hebrews 10:(417) 751 - 2441.  Disclaimer  Our Biblical counselors are equipped to and desire to minister to your unique circumstance and personality through God's Word. Although many of our Biblical Counselors provide professional help in their various occupations, they reserve such help for their workplaces and designated by their employers. Our counselors are happy to come alongside you as you seek help from an independent professional as well as cooperate with those individuals as the circumstance deems necessary. our Biblical Counselors are not medical, financial, or legal professionals nor are they licensed by the state of Missouri.
